HOW TO UNLOCK THE PASSWORD SCREEN
Please note: This cheat does not work in the PAL version of the game.
Method one: On the Main Menu, highlight the 'Clubhouse' option and press:
Z + R + A.
Method two: On the Main Menu, highlight the 'Clubhouse' option and press:
A + L + R.
You can now enter one of the Passwords below to enable the Effect you require.
Note: Be sure to read the Cheat Notes for more info about the Effects.

Cheat Notes:
Nintendo Power tournament: Allows you to play a tournament at Toad Highlands. Note: The shadow with the "?" indicates that any character can be selected. Another password will be displayed after completing the tournament. The ten character password is not actually a password for the game, but is for a promotion in Nintendo Power magazine.
Nintendo Power Summer Scramble tournament: Allows you to Play a Speed Golf event at Mario's Star course with Donkey Kong. The lowest time wins. Another password will be displayed after completing the tournament. The ten character password is not actually a password for the game, but is for a promotion in Nintendo Power magazine.
First Camp Hyrule Cup: Donkey Kong must be selected as a golfer. The password contains the number zero as a character.
Second Camp Hyrule Cup: Plum must be selected as a golfer. The password contains the letter "O".

BUTTON COMBINATION CHEATS
How to unlock all characters and courses:
Important note: This does not unlock the Mario's Star course, and will delete all your saved accomplishments; it marks all of the goals as completed.
On the Title Screen, where you see 'Press Start', press:
Down, Down, Left, Left, Left, Right, Right, Right, C-Down, C-Down, C-Left, C-Left, C-Left, C-Right, C-Right, C-Right.
You will hear a sound to confirm.

How to get alternate costumes:
On the Character Selection screen, hold:
C-Left, C-Right, C-Up, or C-Down and press A to choose a golfer.
Please note: The character will not appear to be the colour on the character selection screen, but will appear as such on the game selection.

UNLOCKING HINTS
How to play as Luigi: To do this you need to defeat Luigi in get character mode.
How to play as Yoshi: Unlock Luigi as a selectable golfer, then defeat Yoshi in get character mode.
How to play as Sonny: Unlock Yoshi as a selectable golfer, then defeat Sonny in get character mode.
How to play as Wario: Unlock Sonny as a selectable golfer, then defeat Wario in get character mode.
How to play as Harry: Unlock Wario as a selectable golfer, then defeat Harry in get character mode.
How to play as Mario: Unlock Harry as a selectable golfer, then defeat Mario in get character mode.
How to play as Bowser: Unlock Mario as a selectable golfer, then defeat Bowser in get character mode.
How to play as Donkey Kong: Get thirty stars in ring mode.
How to play as Maple: Get 50 birdie badges in tournament mode.
How to play as Metal Mario: Get all 108 birdie badges in tournament mode. Metal Mario hits 285 yards and a high draw. He is still the best golfer in the game, with Bowser only being able to hit 280 yards.
How to play as Gold Mario: Unlock Metal Mario and highlight that character at the selection screen. Then, hold C-Left and press A.
How to play as last four characters: The last four characters on the bottom row can only be unlocked by using the Game Boy Color Mario Golf game and the Game Boy Transfer Pak that allows data to be shared between the two games. The four characters are Joe, Kid, Sherry, and Azalea.
How to get the Mario theme song: Unlock all the players in get player mode and allow the credits to complete. Once the credits are done, the Mario theme song will start and you will receive a reward.
How to unlock Boo Valley: Get at least 1,500 course points after unlocking the Koopa Park, Shy Guy Desert, and Yoshi's Valley courses.
How to unlock Koopa Park: Get at least 50 course points.
How to unlock Mario Star course: Get at least 2,200 course points after unlocking five other courses in the game.
How to unlock Shy Guy Desert: Get at least 300 course points after unlocking the Koopa Park course.
How to unlock Yoshi's Valley: Get at least 1,000 course points after unlocking the Koopa Park and Shy Guy Desert courses.
How to get the alternate intro sequence: Unlock Donkey Kong as a player. Then, wait for the introduction sequence to appear a second time. The first time it appears, the sequence shows Yoshi carrying Baby Mario. Remain there and allow it to appear a second time to see Donkey Kong carrying Baby Mario.
How to get the alternate ending sequence: Successfully complete the game with a character to feature him or her during the ending sequence.

HINTS, TRICKS AND PLAYING TIPS
How to get an easier CPU player: Compliment your opponent as much as possible after their shot and he or she will be easier to defeat. For example, if the CPU player gets a perfect shot, press Up to say "Nice Shot!" at the same time that the game announces it.
How to get the one player Skins mode: Choose the player-controlled character, then hold R while selecting more characters to set them under CPU control. Select a play mode and choose to play Skins.
How to get easier wins: To defeat characters easier or to maintain your status without having to start completely over, save the game on bad drives. Then, do that course without restarting the competition again.
How to replay a hole: Pause game play on the hole to be replayed. Use the "Save And Quit" option to save the game. Then, select "Continue" to tee off from the same hole.
How to get a hole-in-one on Luigi's Garden Normal Mini Golf: Stop the power between the "2" and "3" dot. If done correctly, you will get a hole-in-one every time.
How to defeat Bowser: This trick requires a little work and patience. Select Mario and play Bowser in "Get Character" mode. Play each hole until you defeat him. If you do not defeat him on a hole, save the game and reload. You will be able to play the hole again until you defeat him. Note: If you miss a putt and Bowser can sink to win, do not let him putt. If he makes it in, you will not be able to replay the hole.
How to get an easy hole-in-one: Select a character. Choose the "Practice" option (with the pile of golf balls). Select a par 3 hole. Press Start and set the options so that there is no wind. Hit your ball and see where it goes. Adjust your aim and power accordingly so it is closer to the hole. Keep doing this until your ball goes into the hole.
